Brendan Doherty builds and invests in businesses solving our world’s most pressing challenges.
His career spans six continents at top levels in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors.
He is the Cofounder and Managing Partner of KNGDM Group and I AM Nation. KNGDM is a majority Black-owned real estate group delivering community equity and creative impact. IAMN is an elite athlete investor community at the intersection of capital and culture.
He is also the founding COO of The Same House, a Public Benefit Corporation addressing the social and economic challenges facing our world today. Its mission is rooted in the values and aims of Dr. King’s Beloved Community and the words of the late great Congressman John Lewis.
Brendan also runs his own business growth agency, Big & Chewy, where he directly invests in, advises, and develops business for founders and CEOs building world changing companies.
He serves as an Atlanta Housing Commissioner and a Trustee to the Woodruff Arts Center. He sits on several early-stage tech company boards and is a founding partner of the Laudato Si’ Challenge, an impact investing nonprofit inspired by Pope Francis.
He formerly created and ran Forbes Impact - a division of Forbes Media focused on impact investing and business including a community of influential impact investors.
Previously, Brendan also held multiple senior roles in the U.S. State Department under two Administrations (Obama and Bush II), helping shape global policy on conflict, stabilization, and human security.
He also ran and opened a multinational nonprofit in Myanmar, Turkey, and Nepal, the latter where he helped draft the Nepalese constitution.
He hails from Cape Cod and now lives in Atlanta, y’all.
